Claim your email addresses!

Hurrah! Rapportive users now lookup more than 50 million profiles every month.

We want Rapportive to be the best way to understand and connect with your contacts. We also want lots of people to use Rapportive. As we advance on both fronts, something else is happening as a result: Rapportive is becoming an important place to cultivate your brand.

When people email you, they'll see your Rapportive profile. What do you want them to see?

We want you to be in control. To see and edit your Rapportive profile, just click "my profile" at the bottom of any Rapportive sidebar. Here you can change what people see when they email you.

This approach has worked well so far, but it doesn't cover all cases. For example, many people have more than one email address (I personally use four). If you have multiple addresses, editing your profile like this would change what is shown for your Gmail address, but would not change what is shown for your other addresses. Today, this changes.

You can now edit the profiles for all your email addresses. Click "Claim your email addresses" in the Rapportive menu at the top of Gmail, and follow the instructions. (If the option doesn't appear, please reload your Gmail tab.)

After you've claimed an email address, you can edit its profile whenever it shows in Rapportive: just hover over the parts you want to change.

On the internet, you are who you say you are. Take control.

Claim your email addresses!

I just connected 3 different Gmail accounts and 7 e-mails with 1 Rapportive account. I must say, it worked flawlessly, not only was I able to merge my previous Rapportive accounts but I was also able to add new e-mail accounts without any hassle.

Props to Rahul and the Staff at Rapportive for making such an amazing app. Loving the ability to fill our your profile completely then not have to worry about filling it out through different e-mail addresses, not to mention now my non-Gmail addresses can be used without a problem since I have like 20 different e-mails over my 3 Gmail accounts.

Great job Guys!!

@st2008 thanks for the heads up! Is your Hotmail address listing as "pending" in the "Claim your email addresses" dialog? If so, did Hotmail accidentally classify it as spam or junk mail?
Rahul Vohra said
Thanks Simon — that's unexpected!

Can you drop us a line at supportive@rapportive.com, telling us your Gmail address and the Hotmail address? We'll see if we can spot anything on our end :)

This is great progress. Thanks, guys! One question: How do I edit the Rapportive profile for my non-Gmail email addresses? I have deliberately NOT combined some of these with my Gmail profile, but now I can't see how to edit them. Thanks.
Rahul Vohra said
Hey Samir, just hover over the parts you want to change whenever your non-Gmail addresses appear in Rapportive.

(It can currently be a bit tricky to get your non-Gmail addresses to appear in Rapportive. We'll lookup any email address you hover your mouse over, so you can send yourself an email which lists all your email addresses, and then you can hover over these. We absolutely need to make this part better!)

Great feature, but worked only partially for me.

Short version: if the "merge accounts" procedure was skipped after an address was claimed and confirmed, can it be done later?

What appened: no problem with non-gmail accounts (the link opened a new tab to confirm that I own the address), but when the emails were received by the same gmail account on which Rapportive is activated, a small in-browser window opened.
From there, I was able to confirm my other gmail addresses, but the "combine" procedure stalled and now I can no more join the other addresses.

Can i be solved?

Thanks!

My personal and work emails are claimed and the profiles are currently "combined". I'd like to separate them, but can't figure out how. Is that possible yet?

Love Rapportive... thanks!

Rahul Vohra said

Hey,

I'm trying to claim another email address, the official business one. It says pending for a while and I never got an email about it. I'm using gmail for that email address too, though it's not a .gmail email address. Any ideas?

Thanks for the great app!
